The parties met on September 7th.  The negotiations are now at their most delicate stage.  Issues of compensation and benefits, as well as other economic issues are now on the table.  The parties have agreed to  meet again on Tuesday, September 14th and, if necessary, Friday, September 17th through Sunday, the 19th.  While there will be no AAUP meeting on Thursday, September 9th, if there is a need for a strike vote it will either be on Thursday, September 16th or Tuesday, September 21st.
