The parties met on August 3rd and in the morning discussed Professional Athleltic Staff, Department Chairpersons and Governance.Considerable progress was made in these areas and closure was achieved in Department Chairpersons and Governance.  In the afternoon the subject
of  layoff was discussed and there was progress made on multi-discipline departments.  The parties then began reviewing the University's proposal on the reasons and notice for layoff.  There was no progress made in these areas and the parties remained very far apart.  The parties will meet again next week and discuss Outside Employment, Indemnification and Past Practices.
