She hopes to attend graduate school next year for an M.F.A. in Creative Writing Fiction. Her favorite authors include Aimee Bender, Joe Meno, David Sedaris, Jon Krakauer, George Saunders, and Miranda July. Sarah refers to the words of Mark Twain when she writes: "The difference between the right word and the almost right word...is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug."

She was recently elected Fundraising Chair in the co-ed community service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. Her main medium is photography, but she appreciates all types of art. Kirsti Rainville (Public Relations) is a junior at Rider University studying Public Relations with a concentration in Writing. Kirsti has held two internships, one overseas in China and one with the United States Air National Guard. While abroad, Kirsti sat in on business meetings and learned about Chinese business culture in the packaging industry. When working with the USANG, Kirsti gained experience with computer programs like MovieMaker and Photoshop, as well as experience with taking an idea and turning it into a finished product. Originally from upstate New York, Kirsti is the oldest of four kids, and is enjoying her college experience. Currently, Kirsti is looking to get an internship with a professional or college sports team in their public relations department. Her dream job would be to work for an NFL team as the Head of Communications because she loves football and feels she is a good fit for that career field.
Corinne Andersen (Copy Editor) is a junior who is majoring in Journalism with minors in Creative Writing and Law and Justice. She believes that writing is a release from the everyday struggles of the mind and that uniqueness is important. Her pet peeves include brainstorming, writer's block, knowing the ending before the beginning, and misspelled words. She enjoys giving and receiving feedback on works and prefers simplicity in the most complicated forms. As she puts it, “The more you can understand what is being said, the more you can enjoy what you read.” In addition to writing, another one of Corinne's favorite pastimes is reading. She believes that it broadens the mind and gives life to the pen (or pencil).
Melanie Chase (Copy Editor) is a fifth-year Psychology major from Mount Laurel, NJ. She is managing editor of The Rider News, and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and an associate member of Lambda Pi Eta (the Communications Honors Society). In her free time, she likes to write short stories and poetry, travel as much as possible, play (or attempt to play) any instrument she can get her hands on, and sleep. She believes that you should always be yourself and not stress over the little things in life. Two of Emily's biggest inspirations are Maya Angelou and e.e. cummings.

She has a passion for writing fiction and hopes to be a novelist one day. She enjoys reading and editing. Her favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks and Sara Shepard.
