Negotiating Update
The parties met on August 31st and extended the
Agreement until September 30th. The parties discussed many of the
remaining open issues: Appointments, Working Conditions, Lay-off, Workload,
Indemnification and Faculty Development. The AAUP submitted its compensation
proposal to the University. Progress was made on a number of issues
and the Lay-off article was closed. All AAUP members should plan
to attend the AAUP meeting on Thursday, September 2nd immediately
following the President's Convocation.
